Appointments require advance facility approval
I provide mobile notary appointments at approved correctional facilities when the institution authorizes the visit, the signer is ready, and its security procedures allow the document and notary supplies to enter.

What the facility controls
Facility rules control access, scheduling, identification, documents, witnesses, pens, notary supplies, security screening, and visit length. Entry is never guaranteed, and a lockdown or operational change may delay or cancel a visit.
State-prison requests
Pennsylvania Department of Corrections policy provides some notary services internally. Before scheduling an outside visit, confirm whether the institution will handle the request inside or approve an outside notary. I will confirm my availability and any travel fee only after the facility process is clear.
Documents must be ready
I cannot prepare a power of attorney, choose a form, select a notarial act, or provide legal advice. The signer must be willing, able to communicate directly with me, properly identified, and able to participate in the notarial act without visible pressure or coercion.
Pennsylvania does not require a driver’s license in every circumstance. Depending on the facts, identity may be established through an acceptable identification credential, personal knowledge, or a qualifying credible witness. A Pennsylvania Department of Corrections inmate identification may qualify for a signer currently in DOC custody. Call or text before travel so the available method can be reviewed alongside the facility’s rules.
